Guest sentiment
A snapshot of what local diners frequently mention about this location.
"Went this summer. Over a couple of days we had 4 black coffee drinks and all 4 were spot on incredible! The owners buy coffee from great roasters, rest them well, and then brew them in a way that really exposes the best side of that bean. From the coffees we tried each and every drink was expressive yet pleasant. I'd go an extra mile to visit this shop again."
"Clove is the kind of place that stays with you. Great coffee, thoughtful service, and a sense of care in every detail. Highly recommended. We arrived on a rainy day and, out of habit, I chose a seat without noticing the sign at the door. The owner kindly let us know that he personally seats guests — something more common in restaurants than in coffee shops. It took us by surprise for a moment, but it actually made the experience feel more organized and intentional. We waited for a table, and we’re glad we did, because the service was excellent and the coffees were outstanding. The coffee menu is sharp, the beans they curate are incredible, and the ceramics by Ella (who owns the café) are beautiful. We loved them so much that we ended up buying more of her pieces later at Dak in Amsterdam. Everyone was really kind, and it was also the only specialty café we’ve visited so far that we saw using Sibarist filters — a detail that says a lot about their attention to quality. Clove was one of the best surprises of our Paris trip."
"Favorite coffee shop in Paris. Service is excellent, music is perfect, overall peaceful and calm mood fitting perfectly a coffee moment. Quality wise, most of their selection is lightly roasted which provides flavorful and precise cups. Got there a few times and they never missed an extraction. Elite quality price ratio, at least for Paris. You can buy beans as well if you liked them. Pastries are really good. Ceramics (by the boss herself) are gorgeous (got to buy one!)."
"Cozy little café with quality products. Vegetal milk available, along with a small but nice selection of pastries and viennoiseries. For two: one hot chocolate, one cappuccino and one croissant for €15. Friendly and attentive staff, dogs welcome . Beautiful coffee machines, a real plus for coffee lovers. On weekends, the café can get very busy, with limited seating and possible waiting time. Overall, a great spot."
"Calm, comfortable and welcoming, Clove is a simple cafe with a selection of coffees and pastries. The staff are friendly and helpful with recommendations. We even made some new furry friends during our visit. I would absolutely recommend this quiet cafe for a peaceful start to your morning."
"I had their Dak (roaster) espresso. Even with this bold red stone fruit forward bean, they managed to give it a roundness and balance that I have not had elsewhere. All the baristas in Paris were recommending this spot and I am so glad to have gotten to try it during my visit."
"Where do I start? This is one of the best coffee shops I’ve visited. The vibes is extremely relaxing with music just at the right volume so that people are able to easily have a conversation. The interior decor is rustic and soothing which adds to the relaxed feel of the cafe. Coffee is of typical specialty type. Staff are chill and the lady that served me was genuinely a very hospitable person"
"insane espresso! I got an iced americano, and can honesty say that this was in the top 3 most complex but lovely espressos I’ve ever had! The shop was packed and there was no seating, but the baristas still gave us water and let us order. It’s in a bit of a crazy tourist part of town, and was a bit of a maze to get there from the Metro station but worth it!"
